Our story
Hotel Parkzicht is a charming hotel where classic architecture meets modern luxury. The hotel was founded by Marcel, who worked with passion and perseverance for no less than seven years on a complete renovation. Since 2024, Parkzicht has reopened its doors, ready to offer guests a unique experience in the heart of Valkenburg.
The hotel is officially classified by Hotelsterren Nederland and affiliated with Hotelstars.eu, the international organization that rates hotels on quality and service. This ensures you a stay that meets the highest standards.
Our rooms are furnished with attention to detail. High ceilings and large windows provide light and space, while comfortable box-spring beds and air conditioning ensure a restful night's sleep. Each room features a luxurious rain shower, hairdryer, and complimentary toiletries. Some rooms even have a private terrace, ideal for starting the day with a cup of coffee and a view of the surroundings.
From Hotel Parkzicht, you can walk to the castle ruins, caves, and the charming center of Valkenburg in just a few minutes. Its central yet quiet location makes it the ideal base for both a romantic weekend and a relaxing holiday in South Limburg.
Art with a story
At Hotel Parkzicht, you will find not only comfortable rooms and a central location, but also art that tells a story. The German artist Alexander Wachtel has created six monumental paintings especially for the hotel, on which he worked for more than four years.
These artworks are unique of their kind: on canvases several meters long, Wachtel intertwines Dutch motifs with impressions from his travels and his hometown of Nördlingen. The result is an enchanting interplay of reality and fantasy. For instance, in one of the paintings, the Port of Rotterdam is embraced by the historic city wall of Nördlingen.
Each artwork is constructed from dozens of sketches and studies, inspired by iconic masters such as Van Gogh and Rembrandt. With every glance, you discover new details, from recognizable buildings and faces from the region to surprising compositions reminiscent of classical art.
With these works, Hotel Parkzicht not only brings international art into its home, but also a source of inspiration for its guests. It is art that transcends time and invites visitors to pause and rediscover, time and again.
